Hey there Gamers!
Well, it's less than 6 weeks to go until GameFest 2022 kicks off on the evening of Friday the 21st October!
Bump-in starts on Friday afternoon at 5:30pm, check-in starts from 6pm and games will start at 7pm.
We are now counting down to the event and it's time to start finalising all broadcasts to help all our kindly game-hosts prepare for our little extravaganza!
To that end, I have a couple of notices and TODOs for everyone to think about:
1. Last-minute player registrations:
- If you know of anyone who was planning on attending the Fest but hasn't registered.. now is the time to give them a gentle nudge in the dice pouch.. to get their seats registered in the games they'd like to play ASAP!
- As with previous years, and due to COVID safety requirements, we cannot accept walk-ins on the day.
- Please see point 5 below for which games currently have spare seats...
2. Visitors:
- Visitors to GameFest (family, friends, spectators) must be registered to attend.
- Visitors (who aren't playing/don't play) do not need to pay a fee, but they must pre-register their details please. You can either use the registration system and select no games or you can simply send me a note on email including a list of their names, emails and phone numbers.
- As per our COVID Safe plan Personally Identifying Information (PII) will be kept in the strictest confidence and only disclosed to the relevant Australian Government health authorities in the case of a notifiable COVID event.
3. Registration payments:
- We operate a zero-touch registration system, so we cannot accept physical cash payments for registration fees.
4. GameFest Dinner:
- I have pre-booked a dinner venue for the dinner on the Saturday night (22-October) - more details to come; see below.
- You do not have to make your own booking. I have reserved a table for us on the night.
- I will likely be asking everyone to make pre-orders prior to the event; so I can ascertain final numbers and so that the venue can prepare for our arrival.
- Please reply to the 'Game Fest Brisbane 2022 Dinner' email request coming soon to an inbox near you. - Please do not email me about it now as I don't need to know dinner numbers just yet.
5. Seat vacancies:
- The following games still have seats available:
Wrath of Dragons (Friday night at 7pm)
Arkham Horror (Friday night at 7pm)
Dominion (Saturday morning at 9am)
Isle of Cats (Saturday morning at 9am)
Amun-Re & Ticket to Ride (Marklin) (Saturday afternoon at 2pm)
X-Wing (Saturday afternoon at 2pm)
Earthdawn (Saturday night at 8pm)
Eldritch Horror (Saturday night at 8pm)
Terraforming Mars & Power Grid (Sunday morning at 9am)
Frostgrave (Sunday morning at 9am)
Memoir 44 (Sunday morning at 9am)
All sessions are 4 hour blocks, but some have a couple of shorter games running consecutively as noted.
Please see the game list for a visual description of the games on offer at this year's event.
Please do not hesitate to email me (Mark) in regard to any questions you have about Game Fest Brisbane 2022.
I look forward to seeing all your friendly faces there this year.
"May the dice roll forever in your favour.."
Cheers,
Mark
